Mr. Ibrahim Niftiyev received his PhD in economics from the University of Szeged, Hungary. Prior to his PhD studies, he worked in various companies in Azerbaijan after successfully completing his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). His current academic research interests include Dutch disease, de-industrialization, and industrial policy, particularly in the case of the Azerbaijani economy. However, Ibrahim also studies the economies of countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus. He is currently a lecturer at UNEC and a researcher at the Centre for European Economies (UNEC).
