János Csapó

János Csapó obtained his university degrees in 2000 from Janus Pannonius University of Sciences in Pécs, holding a degree as a Secondary School Teacher of Geography and in English Language and Literature as a Philologist and a Secondary School Teacher. In 2001, he earned a qualification as a Tourism Manager. He obtained his PhD in 2006 and received his habilitation in 2014. Since July 1, 2017, he has been an associate professor, and since 2021, a full professor at the Institute of Marketing and Tourism at the Faculty of Business and Economics (PTE KTK), where he is responsible for tourism and hospitality programs.

His research primarily focuses on examining aspects of tourism and regional development. Additionally, he works on tourism product innovations (such as smart tourism and accessible tourism), tourism consumer behaviour research, the complex effects of the spatial concentration and de-concentration of tourism, regional tourism geography (both international and domestic), tourism product development, and regional social geography studies.

Since 2000, he has been teaching at various faculties of UP, as well as at foreign universities as a visiting lecturer or guest speaker. He is a supervisor and core member of the REGA Doctoral School at the Faculty of Business and Economics, a faculty member of the Doctoral School of Management, and a supervisor at the Doctoral School of Earth Sciences at UP.

He holds membership or leadership positions in numerous professional organizations and serves as an editor or editorial board member for several national and international academic journals.
