Jorma Jaakko Imppola

Jorma Imppola (11 May 1964) is a teacher and researcher on School of Business and Culture at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK). He graduated as Master of Science in Engineering 1992 from Lappeenranta University of Technology. He has been working as a part time teacher at SeAMK at its earlier filials since 1993. He has also worked as a teacher, an assistant and an university lecturer at the University of Vaasa 1992 – 2007 teaching Logistics, Production management, Purchasing management, Environmental management and Risk management at the Faculty of Industrial Management. He acquired Vocatioinal Teacher degree 2014 awarded by the Tampere University of Applies Sciences / School of Vocational Teacher Education (TAOKK), Finland. He has actively participated Erasmus teacher exchange programme by making a 2-week teacher exchange period every year to Zilina University (Slovakia) since 2001 and occasional 2-week teacher exchange periods to Skoda Auto University (Czech republik) since 2010. His pedagogical and research activities are focused on industrial logistics, quality management and sustainable management. He is a logistics teacher and researcher, long-time member of the Finnish Association of Purchasing and Logistics (LOGY) and member of the board of Finnish Numismatic Assiciation. He currently lectures courses of logistics, purchasing management, quality management, sustainable management, production management, process management and economics at SeAMK and abowe mentioned Erasmus-cooperation universities. He is also supervising annually more than ten Bachelor thesises. He has earlier participated three EU-projects (Tempus ”DILEMA” (Distance learning in Management of Quality) –projct January 1997 – August 1998; Leonardo da Vinci ”IMVOCED” (Improving Vocational Education in TQM by Developing In-company Work Based Learning) –project February 2001 – Novenber 2003; Growth ”INTRANSNET” (Network of European Medium- and Large-scale Transport Research facilities Operators) project, January 2002 – December 2004). Author and co-author of nearly 100 publications (numismatic articles, monographs, scientific articles, conference and seminar papers and course materials).
